Cloud Database Administrator

Tasks:

HighJump currently has a full-time position open for a Cloud Database Administrator to work in our Minneapolis, MN, Bellingham, WA, or Colorado Springs, CO office. This individual will have a proven track record in supporting Cloud operations securely for our customers and will have a superior understanding of cloud operations

This person will work for the Cloud Operations Team; a fast paced team of highly technical employees tasked with delivering world class cloud offerings to brand name recognizable customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of Database server’s software in the Cloud.
  • Heavily involved in Architectural decision making, and providing recommendations based on knowledge and past experience
  • Ensure the DB servers are healthy and are highly available
  • Provide health reports to communicate to others in and outside the organization
  • Provide strong influence in technical project teams to evaluate and implement new solutions
  • Utilize various automation, monitoring, and service management tools & techniques to troubleshoot issues and perform performance tuning analysis
  • Support our services and support teams on Database related issues
  • Participate with on-hours and after-hours cloud activities
  • Prioritize database project work the priority of decreasing manual activities
  • Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers

Qualifications:

  • Technical Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience administering Database servers
  • Experience as the administrator SQL server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or others.
  • Capable of tuning the database
  • Experience with multiple Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services, IIS, Systems Center, and common server OSs including Server 2016
  • Database high availability techniques
  • Automation & scripting experience with PowerShell, Systems Center Orchestrator, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Python
  • CI/CD Pipelines – flexible on tools – Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, SVN
  • MCSE certified
  • CCSP certifies
  • Certified in any of the following; Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
