Technical Writer

Tasks:

We have a full-time position available for a Technical Writer in our Colorado Springs, CO office. This position will be responsible for writing technical documentation for HighJump solutions. The writer will be focused on administrator, developer, and end user caliber documentation. The writer will participate in daily meetings working directly with developers, QA specialists, and product managers. Additionally, the writer will participate in designing and building online content in the form of how to video content and orchestrated eLearning courses. Further respnsibilities include:

  • Ensure a superior and continuously improving level of product and documentation quality
  • Collaborate with application developers and QA specialists to ensure documentation for all products is ready for a successful and on-schedule launch
  • Develop and continually improve reference manuals, user guides, online content, release notes, and more
  • Manage the documentation set using version control
  • Prepare all documentation for release
  • Continually recommend process improvements and best practices

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years of technical writing experience focused on enterprise software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understand and possess the essential skills and techniques for effective technical writing
  • Experience coordinating documentation requirements with product managers and developers
  • Experience creating administrator, developer, and end user documentation largely focused on software development methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, often under deadlines, and work independently
  • Skill translating technical and functional information for appropriate audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe RoboHelp, and Camtasia Studio
  • Experience working with process flow diagrams to create written content a plus
  • Knowledge of warehousing concepts and HighJump products a plus
